Another 'One Nation' Conservative MP announces...>

UK
UK: Another 'One Nation' Conservative MP announces that they will be standing
down at this general election.
- Ed Vaizey had the whip withdrawn alongside 20 other Conservative MPs that
voted against the gov't in October in an attempt to avoid a no-deal Brexit.
- While the number of MPs from across the Commons standing down at this election
is not significantly higher or lower than other years, there is significant
focus on the political nature of Conservative MPs that are standing down.
- Almost all are from the so-called 'One Nation' wing of the party that has
proved the most tepid towards Brexit.
- Many are also female MPs that may have sought to sit in the Commons for a
longer period of time, but have raised the issue of social media and personal
abuse, often related to Brexit, as reasons for their standing down.
- Following the election, the composition of the Commons in terms of views is
likely to be very different. Labour in recent years has moved sharply to the
left, while Conservative MPs following the election are more likely to subscribe
to the more right-wing, pro-Brexit views of the European Research Group.
