GILT SUMMARY: As with other core bonds globally, gilt yields are lower again
today.
- The 10-year gilt yield hit another record low today of 0.326%, although it has
retraced some of its gains to trade at 0.340% at the time of writing.
- UK 2-year gilt yields have also fallen today, reaching their lowest level
since September 2017.
- There continues to be focus on the spread of the coronavirus globally and
there is much market attention on the number of cases in the UK. The Department
of Health and Social Care was due to give an update today at 14:00GMT but we are
still waiting to hear from them.
- Gilt futures are up 0.39 today at 136.54
- 2y yields down -4.2bp today at 0.154%
- 5y yields down -3.9bp today at 0.207%
- 10y yields down -3.2bp today at 0.336%
- 30y yields down -4.4bp today at 0.857%
- Curve: 2s10s up 1.1bp today at 18.3bp, 10s30s down -1.2bp today at 52.1bp
