Atlanta GDPNow Trimmed But Still Holding 3% Handle For Q1

  • The Atlanta Fed GDPNow was revised down to a still strong 3.4% from 4.2% in the Feb 1 update, as gyrations continue in the still very early days for the Q1 tracker.
  • Personal consumption revised down from 4.9% to 3.3% vs gross private domestic investment growth revised up from 1.7% to 2.2%.
  • Recall GDP growth was surprisingly strong in 2H23, averaging 4.1% annualized after 2.15% in 1H23.
