AUSSIE: AUD crosses come under fresh pressure as Westpac brought forward their
RBA call. They now look for the RBA to cut the cash rate by 25bp to 0.75% in
October, followed by another 25bp cut to 0.5% in February. The previous call was
for 1 further cut in November.
- AUD/USD last seen at $0.6987, 19 pips worse off. The pair has breached the
$0.6996-94 zone, which hosts a congestion of recent highs & lows. this shifts
focus to the 50-DMA at $0.6957.
- AUD/JPY has shed 23 pips, now deals at Y75.58. The next layer of support below
is provided by the 50-DMA at Y75.47.
- AUD/NZD last deals at NZ$1.0435, 15 pips lower on the day. Bears look for a
further slide through the Jul 22 high of NZ$1.0423 towards the round figure of
NZ$1.0400. Conversely, a clearance of Jul 11 & 16 lows of NZ$1.0444 would open
up the 21-DMA at NZ$1.0463.
