AUD/NZD Dives Amid Talk Of Broken Barrier Option

The Antipodean currencies sit at the opposite ends of the G10 scoreboard after AUD/NZD took a nosedive below NZ$1.0400 amid talk of a broken barrier option. The rate last changes hands at NZ$1.0384, 40 pips lower on the day, after printing a fresh YtD low of NZ$1.0349. Bears now set their sights on the psychological NZ$1.0200 figure, which limited losses on Apr 3, 2020.

  • NZD/USD has added 29 pips and last trades at $0.7028, after hitting a three-week high at $0.7052. Further gains past Aug 11 high of $0.7062 would shift focus to the 100-DMA/Aug 4 high at $0.7086/89.
  • AUD/USD deals at $0.7294, just shy of neutral levels. Familiar technical levels remain in play.
