AUSSIE: AUD/USD has edged lower in late Asia-Pacific dealing, with the USD
advancing against its major counterparts ex-JPY on risk off flows, stemming from
matters surrounding Turkey. AUD/USD last at session lows of $0.7342.
- The cross has moved below the (Aug 03 low), and sits right on the July 18 low
($0.7343). Below here bears will look to trendline support ($0.7324) ahead of
the YTD low at ($0.7311). Bulls need a close above $0.7484 to regain traction
and challenge the 100-DMA ($0.7527).
- There was no notable reaction in AUD to the latest RBA SoMP, which held no
particularly large surprises with the change to the unemployment projection
flagged earlier in the week, while the short term minor moderation in the Bank's
inflation outlook does little to change policy stance. Commentary around wage
growth remains muted.
- Focus next week turns to the domestic labour market report, wage data,
confidence surveys and addresses from RBA' Gov. Lowe & RBA's Ellis. Traders will
also keep an eye on the latest round of Chinese Industrial production & retail
sales data.
