range, where upbeat US data underpinned the greenback
*Risk aversion was the theme during the Asia-Pacific region amid raised rhetoric
from both Washington and Pyongyang. Tokyo names were quick to sell Aussie-yen
which sent the Aussie lower from around $0.7910 to $0.7882 before stalling
*As Japanese equities dived further into the red, Aussie-yen supply increased to
send the Aussie down to $0.7868
*Domestic corporate demand in the mid to high $0.7860's then gave the Aussie a
much needed lift, the rate rose to $0.7881 before encountering further cross
related supply.
*Once domestic demand had been fully absorbed, the Aussie extended losses to
$0.7855
*For the balance of the session consolidation became the theme, the Aussie
confined to a tight $0.7866-75 range.
