Australia Building Approvals Rebound; +43.5% In Feb

  • Australia seasonally adjusted estimate for total dwellings approved rose 43.5%, sharply up from last 27.9% drop.
  • Private sector house approvals rose 16.5% in February, to 10,240, following a 16.3% decline in January.
  • Private sector dwellings excluding houses rose 78.3%, following a 43.3% fall in January.
  • The value of total building approved rose 67.5% in February, in seasonally adjusted terms. The increase was driven by a rise in the value of non-residential building (132.0%), following a 37.2% fall in January.
