BASF to Buy 0.8m mtpa of LNG From Cheniere

BASF has agreed to buy up to 0.8m mtpa of LNG from Cheniere, according to a press release.

  • The cargoes will be purchased on a free-on-board (FOB) basis and the purchase price will be linked to Henry Hub plus the liquefaction cost.
  • Deliveries will begin when the first of the three planned liquefaction trains (the 7th train) under Sabine Pass’ expansion project is operational. This is expected for mid-2026.
  • The agreement will extend through to 2043.
