  • Biden says the administration has activated additional security assistance of USD$800 billion taking the total to USD$1 billion authorised this week.
    • 800 anti-aircraft systems
    • Additional longer range anti aircraft systems
    • 9000 anti-armour systems. High accuracy shoulder mounted systems.
    • 7000 small arms. Machine guns, shotguns, sidearms. 20 million rounds.
    • Also to include drones and cutting edge systems.
  • Biden: 'This is not being done alone. It is being coordinated and facilitated by US with allies and partners.'
  • Biden: 'More is coming. This could be a long and difficult battle. We will continue to have their backs.'
  • Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) criticised Biden ahead of his remarks: 'A security assistance package for Ukraine sat down at the White House for months before being approved. Once approved, efforts to transfer the weapons moved at the speed of bureaucracy.'
