Biden Authorises USD400nm More In Military Aid To Ukraine

Wires reporting that the White House has confirmed President Biden has authorized an additional USD400mn to be sent in military aid to Ukraine.
- White House states that Biden directed Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in a memo, "...to direct the drawdown of up to USD400mn in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training, to provide assistance to Ukraine..."
- Newsweek has rundown of previous assistance to Ukraine: "Since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, Congress passed a spending bill worth $13.6 billion in aid to Ukrainians and, in May, the Senate approved nearly $40 billion in additional support—a major package including military, economic and humanitarian assistance. On November 15, the White House asked Congress to approve a further $37.7 billion in military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, of which $21.7 billion would go in defense aid and $14.5 billion for direct budget support to Ukraine."
