Biden-Fighting Inf. Is Top Priority, Costs Rise If GOP Win Midterms

President Joe Biden has released a statement following today's inflation print. "Today’s report shows some progress in the fight against higher prices, even as we have more work to do. Inflation over the last three months has averaged 2%, at an annualized rate. [...] But even with this progress, prices are still too high. Fighting the global inflation that is affecting countries around the world and working families here at home is my top priority."

  • Newsweek: "According to polls by both Gallup and Pew Research, the economy is one of the main concerns for voters as the midterm elections approach on November 8. Gallup's Most Important Problem index, shows "High cost of living/Inflation" is the second-biggest category with 17 percent of respondents picking it as the most important problem facing America in September."
  • WaPo/ABC News pollfrom September showed voters split 54% to 35% in favour of the Republicans on who they trust more to deal with inflation.
