Biden, Harris Stronger Leaders & More Likeable Than Trump, Pence: YouGov

US

YouGov/Economist polling on the US presidential nominees and their running mates makes poor reading for the Republicans, with Biden and Harris viewed as both stronger leaders and more 'likeable' individuals than Trump and Pence:

  • "Is (x) A Strong Or Weak Leader?" - Strong/Weak: Biden: 51% / 49%, Harris: 62% / 38%, Trump: 49% / 51%, Pence: 48% / 52%. YouGov/Economist, August 18, 2020
  • "Despite whether you agree with (x), do you like or dislike them as a person?" - Like/Dislike: Trump: 31% / 52%, Pence: 38% / 36%, Biden: 43% / 34%, Harris: 40% / 34%. YouGov/Economist, August 18, 2020
  • Should be noted, though, that Trump and Biden elicit nearly identical scores on the 'strong leader' question, with only Democratic VP candidate Kamala Harris scoring a strong net rating of +24, compared to +1 for Biden, -1 for Trump and -4 for Pence.
