A new survey from Morning Consult has found that President Biden has ticked-up slightly against former President Donald Trump since the previous survey on August 1 which showed Trump with a +1 advantage over Biden, noting that a "recent focus on Hunter Biden hasn’t hurt his father’s standing against either of the top two Republican presidential candidates."
- Morning Consult: "Hypothetical head-to-head matchups show Biden leading Trump by 2 points and [Florida Governor Ron] DeSantis [R-FL] by 6 points among the general electorate. Voters are slightly more uncertain about who they would support or say they would opt for “someone else” when Biden is matched up against DeSantis."
- Morning Consult: "These numbers may be best considered as a test of electability — a key issue in party primaries that carries all the more significance this time around given concerns about Trump’s baggage and whether the GOP should work to maintain Trump’s coalition or to try to expand its base."
