BNP Forecasts Brent Crude To Average $90/bbl in 4Q23

BNP Paribas forecasts Brent crude oil prices to average $90/bbl in the last quarter of this year, supported by demand growth from China and other non-OECD countries, the bank said in an note.

  • The bank sees Brent prices to average $90/bbl during 4Q23, 1Q24 and 2Q24.
  • Global oil demand is expected to grow by 1.1mbpd on the year in 2023, with China accounting for around 60% of growth. Other non-OECD countries are forecast to account for around 40% of growth, while OECD demand is likely to retreat amid interest rate hikes and slowing economies, BNP wrote.
