BoT To Release Policy Meeting Minutes

Spot USD/THB reopened on a firmer footing, playing catch up with overnight flight to safety. The rate last changes hands +0.120 at THB31.325, the strongest level in 15 months.

  • Bulls set their sits on the 76.4% recovery of the 2020 sell-off at THB32.370, followed by Apr 28, 2020 peak at THB32.533. On the flip side, bears would watch a fall through Jun 25 low of THB31.740 with optimism.
  • Thailand is ready to expand its tourism reopening project. The islands of Samui, Phangan and Tao are set to allow the entry of fully vaccinated foreign visitors from Jul 15.
  • The BoT will release the minutes from their latest monetary policy meeting today. On the data front, the results of a consumer confidence survey conducted by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in June takes focus from here. In May, the index fell to its lowest level since the survey began in 1998.
