Brazil’s LNG Prices Rally to Narrowest Discount v TTF on Record

Brazilian LNG prices rallied in line with the strength seen across NWE to reach a record narrow discount against TTF, according to Platts.

  • Brazil’s DES price for delivery 15-45 days forward was a 24.5 cents/MMBtu discount v physical TTF, the narrowest since Platts launched the assessment Feb. 1.
  • Brazil’s prices had been tracking those in NWE as it competes to pull volumes from the Northwest to the other side of the Atlantic.
  • Traders told Platts that they expected a spike in demand in March, but sentiment has since cooled, and March volumes are now expected to be below February’s levels.
