Business Climate Rose Further

  • Business climate recovery continued, up 6.3pt to 84.7, however falling short
    of markets projecting an increase to 86.
  • Despite manufacturing sentiment gaining a further 4.8pts, the index remains
    well below pre-crisis levels.
  • Business climate in the service sector showed the largest monthly gain, rising
    by 11.2pt to the highest level since March.
  • Employment climate rose 10.1pt to 76.8, while business climate in the retail
    trade sector rose to 88.2.
  • Wholesale trade gained 6.6pt to 79.6 in July, its third successive increase.
  • Insee noted that the response rate is recovering since it dropped in Apr.
  • Insee further noted that Jul's uptick was led by an improved business outlook.
