UK DATA: Business Investment and Household Spending Drag Q1 GDP
-UK Q1 GDP Growth Unrevised at +0.1% q/q vs 0.4% q/q in Q4; +1.2% y/y    
-UK Mar Index of Services +0.1% m/m; +0.3% 3m/3m; +1.1% y/y

GDP growth came in matching market analysts estimates in Q1, courtesy of 
the decline in household spending and business investment and suggested 
the Q1 weakness was not solely attributed to the adverse weather. 
Household spending growth fell to 0.2% q/q, the weakest since 2014 
Q4, while and business investment declined by 0.2%, the first 
contraction since Q4 2016 and the weakest outturn since Q3 2015. 
There were no reivsions to the first estimate components with growth in 
services directly offsetting the drop in construction. Production was up 
0.6% q/q, accounting for 0.1pp of Q1 GDP growth, driven by a 2.2% q/q 
rise in mining and quarrying and a 2.5% q/q rise in electric, gas, steam 
& air.
