Cabinet To Discuss First Home Bill, Inflation Data Up Later This Week

  • The Cabinet convenes for its weekly meeting today. PAP newswire reported that ministers are expected to discuss a draft bill on subsidised housing loans wit ha fixed 2% interest rate for a period of 10 years. Development and Technology Minister Waldemar Buda suggested that the programme could be launched in July.
  • Local data releases will start crossing the wires tomorrow, with the publication of CPI data for February alongside the updated figures for January adjusted for the latest re-weighting of the underlying basket of goods and services.
  • Later this week, focus will turn to current account balance, trade balance and core CPI figures.
