US NATGAS: California Natgas Prices Up on Day

California’s natgas prices are higher today, according to NGI.  Stronger end user demand and higher flows to Mexico are adding to lower pipeline gas inflows.

  • SoCal City Gate is up around 20 cents/MMBtu, while PG&E City Gate is up 5.5 cents/MMBtu, according to NGI.
  • Total Californian gas demand is up 370 mcf/d to 7.82 bcf/d. The 30-day average is 7.31 bcf/d.
  • End user demand up 310 mcf/d to 6.91 bcf/d on the day. This compares to the 30-day average of 6.43 bcf/d.
  • Exports to Mexico are up 16% to 422 mcf/d today.
  • Net gas inflows via pipeline are 43 mcf/d lower on the day at 5.22 bcf/d. This is below the 30-day average of 5.48 bcf/d. Flows are down on all lines except for North Baja.
  • All demand, supply, and pipeline flows data is from Bloomberg.
