Canada Appeals Court Back Rogers and Shaw Deal

  • The Canadian Appeals Court has backed the Rogers & Shaw merger, rejecting the Competition Bureau’s appeal of the Competition Tribunal’s decision approving the deal.
  • Rogers Communications was already trading strongly ahead of the decision, trading higher than any close since May 6, but it helps push the TSX60 futures to a session high of 1246 for slightly up on the day having been down as much as -0.7% an hour after the open.
