Chalmers Open Minded On Inflation Target, To Take Considered View On Lowe

RBA

Australian Treasurer Chalmers notes that he has an "open mind" to the idea of changing the RBA's inflation target, although he is yet to see a better regime, per a WSJ reporter on Twitter.

  • Elsewhere, Chalmers has noted that he will come to a considered view re: the potential reappointment of RBA Governor Lowe.
  • Chalmers stressed that the RBA review is not looking to revolutionise monetary policy, while it woll be forward looking and not about taking pot shots at the Board.
