China to Double High-speed Rail in 15 Years: Daily

China plans to double its total high-speed rail network to around 70,000 kilometres in 15 years connecting all cities with more than 500,000 in population, the Economic Information Daily reported citing a blueprint by the China Railway. The blueprint also proposed the development of China's indigenous rail control systems powered by the country's 5G and Beidou satellite navigation technology, the Daily said. China now has 36,000 kilometres of high-speed rail in operation, the longest in the world, the Daily reported.
