China’s LNG Plants Utilization Rates Fell Last Week

LNG capacity utilization rates at Chinese facilities continued the downtrend last week and rates among 246 LNG plants fell to 52.6% on average for the week ending 7 December, down by 0.93 percentage points on the week, OilChem data showed.

  • The plants cumulatively produced 636.85mcm of LNG last week, down by 1.3% year on year.
  • The 246 plants had a combined LNG production of 636.85 million cubic meters during the same period, down 1.3% from a week ago, data showed.
  • The decline in utilization rates was due to production outages at some LNG in NW and SW China, which suffered production losses due to higher feedgas prices.
