Citizen Arrested For Offering Iran-Linked Group Access To Def Min's PC

Amichai Stein at Kaan tweets: "Israel police arrest an Israeli citizen who was employed in housework and cleaning jobs at the home of Israeli Defense Minister Gantz and offered to an entity affiliated with Iran to assist them in various ways, including injecting a Malware that will allow access to his computer."

  • While it seems the malware was not installed, the fact that someone with access to the defence minister's house and computer was in contact with an Iranian-lined group marks a major breach in Israel's security firewall and a significant intelligence failure.
  • Could spark backlash from Israeli gov't against Iran should the link betwene the Israeli citizen, the group he talked to, and Tehran become clearer.
