Coiling, Curve Twists Steeper

GILTS

Gilt futures remain happy to coil in the range established in the first few hours of Tuesday trade, with bears unable to force a meaningful move towards session lows.

  • Contained U.S Tsy swings have provided the focal point over the last couple of hours, along with global IG issuance, but that has done little for gilt futures.
  • The contract last shows at 100.07, unchanged on the day and just below middle of its 44-tick range.
  • Familiar technical parameters remain untouched/untested.
  • Cash gilt yields are 2bp lower to 3bp higher, with the curve twist steepening.
  • SONIA futures are -0.5 to +4.5 through the blues.
  • BoE-dated OIS is little changed on the day. ~133bp of cuts are priced through ’24.
