Colombia to Import Natgas from Venezuela Before Year-End

Colombia is seeking to import natural gas from Venezuela before the end of 2024, according to Bloomberg citing an interview with Ecopetrol CEO Ricardo Roa at Davos.

  • There is a 220km pipeline between the countries which was practically abandoned, but both countries are looking at restarting it, Roa said.
  • In December, Bloomberg reported that the pipeline was operationally ready in 98% of its totality, based on Colombian media reports of an interview with Milton Rengifo, Colombian ambassador to Venezuela.
