Confidence In Argentina Government At 7-Year Low

  • Argentines’ confidence in the government in November fell to its lowest level since April 2014, according to an index by the University of Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires. Confidence fell by 4.6% to 1.45 points on a scale 0 to 5 (BBG)
    • For reference, confidence in President Alberto Fernandez’s government peaked at 3.29 points in April 2020.
  • Over the weekend, Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner published a letter on her website in which she distanced herself from a possible agreement with the International Monetary Fund, claiming that the responsibility for reaching a deal lies with the Executive Branch and that approving it is the role of Congress.
