Core CPI Eyed Today, NBP's Kotecki To Speak

POLAND
  • The NBP will today release core CPI readings for February, which comes on the heels of headline figures published on Wednesday. Consumer inflation accelerated to +18.4% Y/Y last month, while the previous number underwent the largest downward revision in history to +16.6%, due to the re-weighting of the underlying basket of goods and services. Alongside core CPI data, the central bank will publish January trade balance and current account balance. The data dump is due at 13:00GMT/14:00CET.
  • Finance Minister Magdalena Rzeczkowska said that Poland's Financial Stability Committee will this week discuss a proposal by Poland's financial regulator to implement new measures for CHF mortgage loans.
  • NBP's Ludwik Kotecki, known as one of the hawkish dissenters in the rate-setting panel, gives an interview to TOK FM radio this morning.
