Crude Net Longs Fall Back from High Last Week

OIL POSITIONING

OIL POSITIONING – Crude managed money net long positions decreased last week after reaching the highest since October the previous week. The combined net long positions for Brent and WTI fell by -85k to 320k according to the Commitments of Traders data released on Friday.

  • ICE Gasoil net long positions however increased again to the highest since early September, but Nymex diesel and gasoline both fell on the week.
    • ICE Brent net longs fell by -23k to +238k
    • Nymex WTI net longs fell by -55k to +95k
    • ICE Gasoil increased by +23k to +67k
    • Nymex diesel fell by -7k to +17k
    • Nymex gasoline fell by -11k to +57k
