- CZK has been depreciating sharply this morning after President Zeman named ‘dovish policymaker’ Ales Michl as new CNB governor.
- Michl will take over from current governor Rusnok when his term ends at the end of June.
- Michl mentioned earlier that he expects to propose Czech rate stability for ‘some time’.
- CZKPLN has been retracing sharply lower following the announcement, with the pair breaking below its 200DMA at 0.1844.
- Next support to watch stands at 0.1827,which corresponds to the 38.2% Fibo retracement of the 0.1634 – 0.1947 range.
