Deputy Treasury Sec. Talks On Debt Ceiling & China

Speaking at a conference in Washington, D.C., Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo states that the White House and Congressional leaders are making progress in debt ceiling talks, but that the stand-off 'is costing American taxpayers already.' Adds that the economy is in a robust condition but the "last thing we need right now is a manufactured crisis."

  • Separately, on China relations Adeyemo states that the US is 'not decoupling from China', saying that 'We should not be over-reliant on any one country supply chains,' and that 'De-risking is going to be an important part of what we do going forward.'
