Dutch PM - I Don't Expect Further Sanctions To Be Decided At EUCO Summit

Delivering doorstep comments at the EUCO Summit in Brussels, Dutch PM Mark Rutte states that he does not expect further sanctions against Russia to be decided at the summit.

  • Rutte: "We will discuss sanctions, I do not think we will decide on further sanctions"
  • Rutte asked on Ukraine no-fly zone: "While we have to protect Zelensky gov't we also have to protect the world from an escalation that we do not want"
  • Rutte: "We are looking with high interest" at whether Finland/Sweden might apply to NATO. On Western unity says "Clearly, where Putin thought that he was creating disunity, he brought together" the West.
