E-Minis Pull Lower

E-minis move lower, with the 3 major contracts now -0.1% on the day. Some are pointing to a BBG article flagging a Japanese study which suggests that the omicron COVID variant is 4x more transmissible than the delta strain. We don’t think that headline provides anything in the way of notable news, with that idea in line with the basic assumption in place at present. It could be that the focus is falling on the comments made by the head of the study, pointing to the strain's elevated capacity to infect those that are vaccinated/have already contracted COVID, which would create some worry. Note that the article has not been reviewed by peers/published in a scientific journal.
