EGB/Gilt- Further widening

Another notable session in terms of Volumes, and EGBs are in the green today.

  • Some short cover and possibly some Month End residue, going into a new Month/Quarter.
  • Bund were better bid for most of the session, but we have faded from the highs, following the US ISM beat.
  • Peripherals are mixed, Greece 2.2bps wider, while Spain is 1.9bp tighter.
  • Today saw more Gilt/Bund widening today, by 2bps, and we print another 5yr high (widest), at 124bps.
  • Next are of interest is the 22/06/2016 high at 128.7791Looking ahead, Fed Harker, Mester and ECB Schnabel
  • After market, rating from S&P on France.
  • Dec Bund futures (RX) up 63 ticks at 170.45 (L: 169.92 / H: 170.53)
  • Germany: The 2-Yr yield is down 1.2bps at -0.701%, 5-Yr is down 3.1bps at -0.587%, 10-Yr is down 3.5bps at -0.234%, and 30-Yr is down 2.8bps at 0.248%
  • Dec Gilt futures (G) up 30 ticks at 125.45 (L: 125.21 / H: 125.72)
  • UK: The 2-Yr yield is down 0.8bps at 0.402%, 5-Yr is down 1.1bps at 0.627%, 10-Yr is down 1.6bps at 1.006%, and 30-Yr is down 0.4bps at 1.37%.
  • Dec BTP futures (IK) up 75 ticks at 152.7 (L: 151.92 / H: 152.87)
  • Dec OAT futures (OA) up 65 ticks at 166.6 (L: 165.91 / H: 166.69)
