EGB/Gilt - Unwind some of Friday's rallies

  • A calmer start for the week, given an US NFP week, but the data might take a back seat this week, with most of the focus going forward squarely back on the Omicron variant.
  • Bund and EGBs have nonetheless, faded lower today, as the US comes back from their Thanksgiving holiday.
  • Gilts have underperformed, which pushed the Gilt/Bund spread a touch wider, by 1bp, to 116.3bps.
  • Looking ahead, there are still plenty of speakers, but unlikely to learn anything new.
  • Nonetheless, these include, ECN Lagarde and Fed Powell, Williams, Hassan and Bowmwn
  • Gilt futures are down -0.56 today at 127.00 with 10y yields up 4.3bp at 0.865% and 2y yields up 4.5bp at 0.500%.
  • Bund futures are down -0.55 today at 171.79 with 10y Bund yields up 3.2bp at -0.306% and Schatz yields up 1.8bp at -0.749%.
  • BTP futures are down -0.40 today at 151.26 with 10y yields up 2.0bp at 0.992% and 2y yields up 2.1bp at -0.248%
  • OAT futures are down -0.47 today at 167.66 with 10y yields up 2.4bp at 0.057% and 2y yields up 1.9bp at -0.794%.
