Emerging Markets: ETF Inflow Streak Reaches $27.6 billion.

*Inflows into exchange-traded funds that buy emerging market stocks and bonds were recorded for a 16th straight week.

*Last week, investors added $1.13 billion to U.S.-listed emerging market ETFs that invest across developing nations as well as those that target specific countries. This was slightly above the previous week's rise of $885 million and extended 2021 inflows to $10.6 billion. Inflows have remained fairly steady ~$1 billion mark for the past 4 weeks.

  • Stock ETFs expanded by $1.29 billion.
  • Bond funds fell by $156.5 million.
  • China/Hong Kong had the biggest inflow, of $631.1 million, led by Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets.
  • Panama had the biggest outflow, of $4.72 million, following withdrawals from iShares JP Morgan USD Emerging Markets Bond.
