POWER: Enel’s Italian Power Gen Fell 18.4% Y/Y in 2024

Enel’s total power generation in Italy declined by 18.4% on the year to 34.78TWh, largely driven by lower output from oil and gas, amid lower capacity, it said. 

  • Total renewable generation in Italy last year rose by 14.7% on the year to 25.34TWh, supported by higher solar and hydropower generation.
  • The firm’s CGGT generation fell by 28.8% on the year in 2024 to 7.79TWh.
  • Enel has hedged 100% of its planned power production in 2025 and 85% of its planned output in 2026 in Italy. 
  • In Iberia, total power generation edged down by 0.8% on the year to 59.78TWh, with renewables output 25.2% higher on the year while conventional output fell by 8.8% year on year.
