Equinor Raised Q3 Gas Production by 11% Year-on-Year

NATURAL GAS

Equinor’s gas production rose by 11% in Q3 year-on year, supported by the restart of the Hammerfest Snøhvit LNG site in June, contributions from Martin Linge and ongoing gas export from Gina Krog.

  • In Q3 2022, Equinor’s gas production was at 773mn b/d of oil equivalent (boe/d), compared with 767mn b/d of oil equivalent (boe/d) in Q2 and 695mn b/d of oil equivalent (boe/d) in Q3 2021.
  • In the first nine months of 2022, gas production rose by 13% compared to 2021 levels.
  • Production growth in Q3 was partially offset by an increase in turnarounds, compared to the third quarter of last year.
  • All LNG cargoes from the Hammerfest LNG site have been delivered to Europe.
  • Norway has emerged as the top supplier of gas for Europe after Russian flows tumbled.
  • The latest Norwegian Petroleum Directorate data showed Norwegian gas production for September averaged 303 million cubic metres per day, falling short of the forecast 323.9 MMcmd. Output has been struck by maintenance at key fields such as Troll but European gas demand has been more limited in October than previously forecast lessening the impact of reduced supply.
