EU Gas Maintenance: Norwegian Supplies to Improve From Thursday

Norwegian natural gas pipeline flows to Europe are expected to increase from Thursday onwards, Gassco remit data show.

  • Unavailable capacity from Norwegian gas fields and facilities stood at 121.36mcm/d on Thursday. This is scheduled to fall to 80.26mcm/d and to 63-69mcm/d this weekend. Several outage extensions have delayed the country’s annual maintenance season.
  • The 125mcm/d Troll field has still not fully returned from maintenance. Supply will be limited by 10mcm/d on 19 Sept to 6 Oct, by 29mcm/d on 6 Oct until 12 Oct, by 15mcm/d on 12-16 Oct and by 6mcm/d on 22-23 Oct.
  • The Karsto processing facility will have limited supplies of 67.6mcm/d on 27-28 Sept.
  • Maintenance at the Skarv field will last until 10 Oct, limiting full supply of 22.1mcm/d. The duration remains uncertain due to processing problems.
  • The maintenance at the Ormen Lange field will last until 7 Oct, affecting 24.5mcm/d.
  • The maintenance at the Asgard field is scheduled until 14 Oct with 13.6mcm/d unavailable with additional unavailability on 27-28 Sept.
  • The 9mcm/d Dvalin field will have planned maintenance until 28 Sept. After, supply will be reduced by 5.5mcm until 30 Sept.
  • Smaller maintenances at the Gulfaks, Visund, Kvitebjorn fields are scheduled to conclude on 29 Sept and at the Norne field on 28 Sept.
  • Oseberg will have capacity curtailments of 5.5mcm/d until 9 Nov.
  • The ongoing repairs at the Kollsnes processing plant will reduce supplies by 11mcm/d until 16 Oct.
  • The Dornum terminal will have maintenance on 27-28 Sept limiting 48mcm/d of gas supplies.
  • In France, the Dunkerque LNG terminal will have capped sendout until 29 Sept. The Fos Cavaou LNG terminal will have no flows until 2 Oct.
  • In the UK, unavailability at the St. Fergus terminal is as followed during annual maintenance:
  • 30.8mcm/d until 2 October, 10.8mcm/d until 9 Nov, 15.8mc/d on 20 Oct until 1 Nov, 30.8mcm/d on 19-20 Oct.
  • The Barrow North terminal will have limited availability until 8 Oct.
