FOREX: EUR sinks as data flags growth concerns
-Germany's final GDP figures confirmed a poor economic performance in Q3, but
further concerns were raised in Eurozone PMI figures, with France, Germany and
the Eurozone-wide measures largely disappointing. This saw a low of weight go
through in EUR/USD, sinking the pair well below the $1.14 handle to touch
$1.1365. Markets have already begun to consider the ramifications for ECB
policy, with Dec19 Euribor futures touching the highest levels since October
2016.
-NZD again underperforms alongside weakness in Chinese equity markets, but
NZD/USD has, so far, held above the week's lowest levels.
-JPY is the strongest performer in G10, but dips remain shallow as markets look
quiet for the rest of the week. The US have a half-day today as Thanksgiving
celebrations continue.
-Canadian retail sales and CPI figures cross at 1330GMT, with US manufacturing,
services and composite PMI data at 1445GMT. ECB's de Guindos is the sole
speaker, expected at midday London time.
