EURO-DOLLAR: EUR/USD has climbed a few pips and last deals at $1.1398 after
slipping 21 pips Wednesday. ECB's Nowotny, Villeroy & Mersch spoke yesterday,
echoing the tone of ECB Pres Draghi rhetoric from Tuesday - pointing to an
economic slowdown, but playing down worries re: recession in the EZ.
- Initial support is located at the 50-DMA/yesterday's low at $1.1382/78,
followed by the cloud base at $1.1366. On the topside, bulls need a break above
the psychological $1.1400 level, which has capped gains thus far, before
challenging yesterday's high at $1.1425.
- EZ focus this week falls on aggregate EZ CPI and remarks from ECB's
Lautenschlaeger on Thursday, as well as ECB's Visco's appearance alongside
Italy's FinMin Tria on Friday. Elsewhere, EU Brexit negotiator Barnier will
speak Thursday.
