Fed Rate Path Marginally Lower Post FOMC Minutes

STIR
  • After initially very little reaction to the minutes, the FOMC-dated OIS path eases marginally (~1bp) but still holds onto the day’s sizeable shift higher buoyed further by Governor Waller’s earlier prepared remarks.
  • The minutes showed officials split on support for more hikes with a stress for the need to keep options open.
  • Some pertinent cumulative changes from current 5.08% effective: +9bp for Jun (+1.5bp on the day), a peak of +17.5bp to Jul (+5.5bp), -8bp for Nov (+8.5bp) and -27bp for Dec (+9.5bp).
