Federal Troops To Withdraw From Portland After Governor, VP Reach Agreement

Governor of Oregon Kate Brown has announced that federal troops will
withdraw from the city of Portland after she reached an agreement with
vice-president Mike Pence.

  • Dept. of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf has said the withdrawal
    plan will include a "robust presence" of Oregon state police in Portland.
  • Mass protests and riots in Portland, lasting 61 days have been met by
    the presence of federal enforcement officers, against the wishes of the
    city and states' Democratic political leaders.
