FI moves a little lower on the HICP data

EUROPEAN DATA
  • EZ HICP has come in a tenth above the 8.0% level that we thought was the breakeven, and we cited that a higher number was likely a trigger to see more downside moves for FI.
  • Bund futures were at 152.42 prior to the print and hit a low of 152.23 within a couple of minutes of release and is now holding between that level and 152.34.
  • So not a huge move, but HICP was only a tenth above the breakeven level.
  • BTP futures also moved to their lows of the day from 128.09 to a low of 127.57 and is now trading in a 127.70-127.87 range.
  • Moves more muted in FX, with the EUR little moved.
