SPAIN: Following poor result for his liberal centrist Citizens (Cs) party in the
10 Nov general election, Albert Rivera has resigned as party leader.
- Cs went from being the third largest party in the Congress of Deputies with 57
of 350 seats. Following collapse in support, with Cs voters moving to the
centre-right People's Party or right-wing VOX, Citizens won only 10 seats. 
- New leader could prove more open to coalition negotiations with governing
Socialists of PM Sanchez. Rivera has previously put the brakes on any prospect
of his party joining in a left-leaning coalition.
