  • Despite the recent rebound, the index remains well below the pre-crisis level and the long-term average.
  • Jan's uptick was led by a strong rise in manufacturing sentiment which increased 4pt to a ten-month high of 98.
  • Service sentiment gained 1pt and edged up to 91, its highest level since Sep, while retail trade confidence eased 1pt to 93, marking a two-month high.
  • All indicators continue to post readings below the long-term average and their pre-pandemic levels.
  • Employment climate ticked up 1pt to 87, showing a three-month high in Jan.
