Freeport LNG Restart Hit by Regulator Requests

Freeport LNG in the US will not be able to restart unless further information is provided on "ongoing damage assessments, repair work plans and plans for restart" to the federal regulators.

  • Freeport LNG said it expects the 2.1-billion cubic feet per day plant to return to at least partial service in early- to mid-November.
  • At least four vessels were already lined up to pick up LNG at Freeport, according to Refinitiv data.
  • Freeport LNG expects to restore 85% of pre-fire processing capacity next month and complete repairs to bring the facility back to 100% by March.
  • Freeport shut June 8 because of a pipeline explosion.
