French Nuclear Availability Revised Down For This Week

French nuclear availability has been increasing in recent days but nuclear output will remain lower than expected this week, as EdF extends further outages, EdF remit data show.

  • The 1,335MW St Alban 2 reactor restart has been extended to 4 Dec, from 24 Nov
  • The 910MW Graveline 3 reactor restart has been delayed to 1 Dec, from 23 Nov.
  • The full restart of the 915MW Tricastin 3 unit has also been delayed by one day to 25 Nov.
  • French nuclear availability stood at 30.14GW this morning
  • Last week, French grid operator RTE revised down its nuclear output forecast for next year at 40GW, which lagged 5GW from the previous forecast.
  • French power consumption is forecast to peak at 66.1GW in the next seven days, RTE data show.
  • French natural gas reserves stood at 98.95% of capacity on 20 Nov, after the country has started net gas withdrawals in recent days, AGSI data show.
